Yet Another Diet Change
Over the many years, I have changed my food plans dozens of times. I suppose everyone has which is why this update will be quick.
I, like many humans, find certain foods tend to becomes boring when eaten repetitiously no matter how healthy they are. More tofu? I’d rather saw my foot off at the ankle.
Food combinations lose their appeal and seem to do so quicker as I age and fall apart. What melted in my mouth two months ago now feels like I’m eating a bucket of papier-mâché left over from the third grade.
Eventually cooking become laborious and unrewarding at some point for me. This is cyclical and probably more of a “single” person affliction. I find many of my single friends never consider cooking and eat out a lot. I don’t like to eat out much, but I do go through “no cook” phases. This is one such time.
So it’s back to mounds and mounds of raw fruits, vegetables and nuts (almonds, walnuts). Protein will come from various protein shakes, Greek yogurt and overpriced unsweetened soy milk. I’ll also have the occasional tin of sardines just to keep the carnivorous part of my humanity stoked in case the Apocalypse arrives and I’m forced to harvest squirrels for sustenance.
I thought about become a fruitarian, but that sounds like one hell of a toilet paper bill. I’m sure I’ll start cooking again. Maybe this summer.
